Saturday morning pancakes

My girls get so excited for the weekend when we get to have Dad hang out all day. One favorite thing for Sydney is making pancakes with Pete Saturday morning. She gets really into it and wears her little purple apron as she stands on a stool helping stir the batter.

Her current favorite kind of pancakes are letter pancakes and Pete is getting pretty good at it.
GG and I get to reap the benefits of all their hard work. Hmmm!

Family Camp out

We finally got some camping in this summer. We camped out at Mount Diablo with our good friends the Nadaulds.

Check out the view from our sweet campsite. We could see forever, enjoyed a gorgeous sunset, the city lights after dark and then woke up above the clouds
All the kids, and the adults actually, had fun climbing on all the neat rock formations. Sydney wowed us with her bravery on the rocks.

Swimming lessons for Syd

My friend Olivia is awesome! She taught swimming lessons this summer with her twins and let a few of us friends mooch off of her skills. Sydney was a little nervous the first couple days, but then she really got into it. Diving for rings Maneuvering around the pool

GG was great to hang out during the lessons and only tried to jump in once. Now when we go to the pool Sydney is like a fish and loves her newfound freedom.

Girly Girl

This year Sydney has really gotten into playing dress up. She averages about four outfits a day and it's pretty entertaining never knowing what she might show up in next.

July 4th

We headed down to Santa Cruz for a day at the beach on Saturday and just enjoyed the sun and sand.

Monday we had a busier schedule. We started with the neighborhood July 4th parade.
Pete and Sydney decked out her bike just for the big event and she was so excited.
Here we are with our friends Heather and Josh walking with all the kids. It was a hot day and by the time we got back to the house Pete and Sydney decided to cool everyone off.

After two BBQs and time at the pool during the day GG was done, but Syd still wanted to make it to the fireworks show. So Pete rode her out to watch it over the bay and she fell asleep in the bike seat on the way home. Here's a pic of the party animal watching the show.

Family Fun in Utah

Pete had to be out of town for a week, so I decided to take the girls to Utah. We tried to pack in as many things as we could. Here are the girls, driven by Emily and Sara at the Children's museum in SLC.

We had a BBQ up Provo canyon one beautiful night and had the best time. Sydney and Kyler played so well together.

It was hot the whole week we were in town. The average was 90, so we spent a lot of time at the pool, running through the sprinkler and in this cute little pool my mom bought for the kids.

We also got to meet up with some of my girl friends from BYU, go to the zoo with Grandma Pam, terrorize Grampa Wynn, have dinner with all my Johnson sister-in-laws and much more. I couldn't get pictures of everything, but we won't forget the good times. Can't wait to see you all again!
