Family Fun in Utah

Pete had to be out of town for a week, so I decided to take the girls to Utah. We tried to pack in as many things as we could. Here are the girls, driven by Emily and Sara at the Children's museum in SLC.
Andrew flying them on the helicopter there
Swimming at Lisa's pool, can you believe that view?
We had a BBQ up Provo canyon one beautiful night and had the best time. Sydney and Kyler played so well together.
Sierra and I
My Dad and brothers goofing around and playing bocce ball
Uncle Matt being sweet with Ellie
Syd and Kyler just climbed on rocks and played the whole night.
We could barely get them to stop long enough to eat.
It was great.
A tired Sydney walks back to the car with Gramps
It was hot the whole week we were in town. The average was 90, so we spent a lot of time at the pool, running through the sprinkler and in this cute little pool my mom bought for the kids.
They had so much fun in this tiny pool. Here are Syd, Kyler and Emily "helping" her fill it up
Little Emily showing off her dance moves
popsicles in the pool-it doesn't get much better than this for 3 year olds.
We also got to meet up with some of my girl friends from BYU, go to the zoo with Grandma Pam, terrorize Grampa Wynn, have dinner with all my Johnson sister-in-laws and much more. I couldn't get pictures of everything, but we won't forget the good times. Can't wait to see you all again!

Sweet sweetness

It's these quiet little moments that make it all worth it.

GG turns one

One year! Where does the time go?
For GG's birthday weekend we had the Tanner girls come to visit. Four little girls running around the house was really entertaining.
Syd loves to have Becca sleep over
GG loves having a friend her size
We took them all down to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and let them run wild
GG and Anna in a giant clam shell Then back at home we let Grace have at her first real cupcake
I love the uncertainty at first-"Is this really OK mom?"
Then she goes for it with gusto, there was nothing left but crumbs!
We sure love this little munchkin!

Happy Birthday Sydney!

Sweet and simple. All we had to do was have a few of Syd's best buddies over to the park,
make everything purple
and she was in heaven.

Memorial Day

We got to spend some time in beautiful Santa Barbara for Memorial day and it was just what we needed. We had two perfect beach days, a day of hiking and a relaxing Sunday.
We also met up with some of our favorite people Tina and Greg. Here's a pic of Tina and I right before we tried paddle boards for the first time-very fun.

The Swagger Van

It's official. I'm now a minivan mom. We are selling our beloved VW wagon to some lucky guy today. We will enjoy the extra space and all the conveniences, but we'll miss our sporty little TDI wagon. It makes us feel a little old too, but the surf boards do fit better on the van.

Precious moments

Sydney and Grace being sweet
I caught Syd in a perfect moment of childhood bliss and oblivion. She was leaning back singing a little song as she ate her snack while wearing a creative outfit she put together.
I love this shy smile as she caught me taking pictures.
We love our time at the community garden. Sydney's favorite job is watering with her tiny watering can. Today we found little squash and zucchini that should be ready by next week. We also feasted on strawberries and raspberries right off the bush.
GG also loves the garden, but we have to keep the pacifier in as much as we can or she just tries to eat anything she can get her hands on. That includes rocks, dirt, manure, leaves etc. I saw she had a morsel in her mouth the other day and fished out what I thought was a rock. When it hit the ground, it started to move and I realized it was a rolly polli bug! I know, gross, but she's so cute!
