Boxer ski weekend

We went to Tahoe for the weekend with Pete's business partner, Rob and his wife Sarah.
We took both our girls skiing (GG's first time) and they loved it.
Look at those tiny skis!

The girls built a mini snowman
Sunday morning we slept in, made a big pancake breakfast and did some sledding
Rob and Sarah are really fun people and they are so great with our kids.  The girls love them and it was so cute to see them interact.  GG was just asking me today, when we can go to the cabin with them again!
It was a beautiful weekend and a great last snow experience for the season.
Rob and Sarah we hope this turns into a tradition!

March update

It's been a while since I posted.  It's so easy to get behind, but here are a few of things we did in March:
The girls picked a ton of lemons off our tree one day and then decided to sell them from our front porch.  They were so excited about it and Sydney made this little sign.  We have some very sweet neighbors and all the lemons sold.
We had a few unseasonably warm days and the girls begged me to put on their swim suits and play with the hose.
We've been really into tree climbing lately
Pete decided to make it even more exciting by getting our climbing gear out

Lots of bike riding since the weather warmed up, these two love to race around the neighborhood.  One pretty day I took the girls to Standford to bike around campus.  Look at these hams

We also had a quick visit from Pete's parents in March.  They are so much fun and just wanted to do projects all weekend.  Pam and Sydney made two beautiful pies together that were delicious.
look how perfect this pie is!
Then they helped us put a sandbox in our backyard.  Our small order of sand was delivered in an enormous dump truck that had the kids so excited.  It was pretty fun to watch.
We all helped shovel and haul the sand into the back yard.  Syd and GG even shoveled into the compartment on their tricycle and rode it back and forth with little loads of sand-it was really cute.
I love this picture of Pete and his dad building the base and GG handing them all the screws-she was so excited to help!

Thanks for coming to see us Pam and Wynn!

Carlsbad with the Tanner Family

For presidents day we met up with our good friends the Tanners.  It had been way too long and we had so much fun hanging out and catching up.  Our girls are all about the same age and love each other, so it made the weekend fun for everyone.  Their place is literally across the street from the beach so we were loving beach access and the amazing views.
Pete and Stew packed in four surf sessions and Jacquie and I even went out Saturday morning and rode a few waves in.  The girls spent hours playing together in the sand.
These two little cuties kept us laughing all weekend with their big personalities.
The big hit for the kids was collecting and steaming mussels.  Pete got them excited about it and they had so much fun tearing them off the rocks, soaking and cleaning them and watching them open as they cooked.  Here they are preparing them assembly style at the sink.

Stew with the finished product.  Amazingly, they all ate some and seemed to like it too!
Jacquie and Anna
These two were just peas in a pod all weekend and played so well together.  The first thing Becca did in the morning was sneak into our room to see if Sydney was awake so they could start playing.
Thanks for a great weekend Tanners, we love you guys!

Girls Trip

For my birthday this year Pete surprised me with a ticket to LA!  My friend Natalie and I flew down to visit our amazing friend Tina, who's a new mom.  It was a quick trip, we left Thursday night and came back Sunday morning, but were so excited to see Tina, Greg and their new little guy and get some girl time in.
Here he is!  What a handsome little guy and with great cheeks for muggin on
We were able to pack a lot in to just over 48 hours.  We slept in, went for a jog, ate lots of good food, visited the Getty, went to the LA temple, rode bikes up and down the strand and did some major shopping at the Grove.
Tina was such a great host and showed us great restaurants and things to do. And for a new mom, had a lot of energy!
Thanks to all our husbands for a great weekend.  Greg for taking the baby alone so we could play and to Pete and JJ for coming up with the idea!
I'm glad to have such great friends!

Back home

All the cold and snow in Utah was fun, but it felt so great to see green grass and the sun when we got back.  It made us appreciate the fact that as soon as Christmas ends here, it's pretty much spring.  Our first day home I took the girls to Rancho and we were definitely not missing snow!
That same week we made it to Happy Hollow too-these two have so much fun together!

Just behind our neighborhood there's an old field/orchard that's surrounded by homes and offices so it's  mostly hidden and every year around Christmas the whole field blooms in yellow mustard flowers-we love to ride over there and just run through the flowers.
 Doesn't this look like spring?
